The managerial future at Carrow Road is in jeopardy with Alan Irvine currently taking over first-team matters on a caretaker basis since the sacking of Alex Neil, but it is unclear whether he'll become a permanent fixture at the club this summer.

One thing which is certain to happen at Norwich City in the next four or so months is a major overhaul in the playing squad, with so much deadwood and unwilling players who pick up their wages as they drag their team-mates with them.

The Canaries have Irvine's predecessor, Alex Neil, to thank for that who made a number of unfortunate and utterly useless signings during his time in East Anglia, causing major dismay in the camp and players who have no pride whatsoever for the badge.

Norwich are in the process of recruiting a new Sporting Director, who will oversee transfers this summer.

Norwich will have a busy summer ahead as whoever comes in will have the target to push for promotion back to the top flight - so here are three signings the club should make to help enhance the squad for next season...

Steven Caulker

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool centre-back has been a Queens Park Rangers player for just under three years now and has clearly not lived up to the early career expectations.

Whether he has fallen out with QPR manager Ian Holloway or just isn't good enough for the standards to compete in the Championship, a future at Loftus Road is in doubt for him.

Steven Caulker would be a positive and well-needed signing at Norwich City.

His presence is frightening for opposing strikers and is a real threat in the air, something the Canaries will desperately want in the squad for the next campaign.

Luke Daniels

Norwich City's goalkeeping position is in jeopardy at the moment with uncertainty surrounding the future of John Ruddy and Northern Ireland international Michael McGovern.

Although he is from a division below the Championship outfit, Luke Daniels has been awarded very positive reviews and analysis from the world of football following his spectacular performances for Scunthorpe United this season.

With the Irons' promotion hopes fading away, the 29-year-old will want to play more competitive games and the Canaries would hugely benefit from Daniels in net next year if they did seal a deal for him.

Josh Morris

Another Scunthorpe player, Josh Morris has shown his quality this campaign and is miles better than League One.

The midfielder is versatile for one; being able to play at wing-back, wide midfielder or in the centre and Morris has been the focal point of his team's success this season and he could probably translate that to the Championship.

The 25-year-old has a stunning strike with both feet and his contribution would enhance the Canaries' squad for the 2017/18 season.

I'm sure it wouldn't take much to tempt him away from Glanford Park if the Iron fail to win promotion.
