Norwich City fans can go into next season full of optimism, with the recent managerial appointment of former Borussia Dortmund II manager Daniel Farke.

The German spent three years with the Regionalliga West outfit and will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow former Dortmund II boss David Wagner, who recently led Huddersfield Town to promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Norwich are no strangers to the top flight of course and were looking to ensure an immediate return to England's top league last term, only to end up in a disappointing 8th-placed finish after a relaitvely early collapse.

Still, few would doubt that former boss Alex Neil has left a very decent squad for Farke to work wonders with next season, though there are certain players that need to depart Carrow Road for the sake of their careers as well as City's progress under the German.

With that being said, here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies TWO players that should leave Norwich in the summer...

Jonny Howson

As days go by, it seems even more inevitable that Howson won't be a Norwich City player come August.

The midfielder has made over 175 appearances for Norwich, but has recently been heavily linked with old club Leeds United this summer, and is believed to want to return north with his young family.

The Canaries were understood to have been prepared to extend the 29-year-old’s current contract, which still has two years left to run, but Howson's representatives are said to have made it clear he will not pledge his longer term future to the club.

City can definitely tempt Leeds or other potential suitors into spending big on Howson, which will then allow Farke to bring in someone of much higher quality.

Steven Naismith

With the likes of Sunderland and Rangers calling, it could be the time for Naismith to depart Carrow Road.

The Scottish international has made 32 appearances for the Canaries, netting 5 times, but there are many better options out there for Farke to strengthen his squad.

Plus, with the recent addition of Barnsley's Marley Watkins, it is unlikely that Naismith will be a key figure for City next term, which is why it makes sense for him to leave in order to reignite his career.

So...what do you think Norwich fans? Should these two players depart Norwich in the summer? Who should replace them? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
