Bristol City manager Lee Johnson is looking to strengthen his squad, with pre-season just a matter of weeks away, with Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne the latest name to be linked with a move to Ashton Gate, according to The Australian Daily Telegraph.

Redmayne, 30, helped the Sky Blues to their fourth A-League title last season in remarkable fashion, saving two penalties in a grand final penalty shootout against Perth Glory.

Bristol City will be looking for a top six finish next season, and it may be worth taking a punt on them using a william hill promo code - as they show no signs of having a poor 2019/20 campaign.

So would Redmayne be a good addition at Ashton Gate?

We discuss........

Louie Chandler

"It is pretty uninspiring.

"The Robins could do with some more depth in goal this season but it is hard to see the 30-year-old actually challenging for a starting spot.

"He only kept eight clean sheets last season and for a team aiming to break into the Premier League, Lee Johnson and co. should be aiming a bit higher.

"That being said, their recruitment is usually pretty good so should be trusted. I am just not convinced."

Kealan Hughes

"This seems like a bit of a strange one, but Bristol City are in need of goalkeepers and Redmayne could prove to be an inspired signing.

"Although he is 30 and has never played outside the A-League, he is still improving and his impressive form this season earned him his first cap for Australia.

"Last season he conceded 30 goals in 30 games for Sydney, which is a very good record. If he can adjust to the Championship he should do well behind Nathan Baker and Bailey Wright."

Gary Hutchinson

“It’s hard to be objective because in truth, I haven’t seen him play.

“It does conjure up memories of great Aussie keepers for me though.

“Mark Bosnich springs to mind, as does Schwarzer.

“If he’s as good as them, it’s well worth a punt.”
