Millwall face what could be deemed as a near-impossible task tomorrow afternoon when they look to record their first away win of the season against Preston North End.

Neil Harris takes his charges to Deepdale to take on a resurgent Alex Neil side who have one defeat in their last ten games, winning their last four in a row.

That is why the task at hand is a daunting one for the Lions who have failed to win in their last six matches.

Millwall ended a run of three away defeats on the spin with a draw on at Aston Gate two weeks ago, and with the club perilously close to the drop zone, that run will need to change for the better sooner rather than later.

Shaun Williams remains out with ankle ligament damage, with Tom Bradshaw, the only other long-term absentee.

Harris knows his side need to tighten up at the back and have a small portion of luck on their side if they are to get their first away win of the season quicker than it took them last year.

With that said, it is imperative that Harris names this starting XI to earn their maiden away win of the season tomorrow afternoon.

Back to form, Jordan Archer has retained his place in goal since being restored by default after Ben Amos was ineligible to play against his parent club a few weeks back.

It will be a challenge for the Scotland international against an in-form Preston side.

Preston are a solid unit and Millwall will need a tad more attacking influence if they are to break down.

Mahlon Romeo will have the pace to get back to his defensive duties as well as helping out in attack.

Hitting top form, Shaun Hutchinson could be the key for Millwall to keep a clean sheet and give themselves every chance of getting something at Deepdale.

The leading assist star in the Championship and fresh from signing a new long-term deal, Jake Cooper, is solid at the back and in-form in attack.

But he will need to improve at the back with Shaun Hutchinson to help Millwall on their way to a first away win.

James Meredith has been below-par compared to last season, and with Millwall’s players needing to stand up and be counted to get their first away in, he will need to do just that.

Tomorrow could be the best chance for the Australian to return to form.

Single-handedly trying his best to pull Millwall away from the relegation zone, and has put in a solid shift since signing his new contract.

Jed Wallace will be looking to add to his two-goal tally in what will be his 20th appearance of the season.

Ryan Leonard will have to be more of an attacking influence as well as pairing that up with putting on a defensive display to lay the foundations to aiming for a first away win of the season.

In the side in place of Shaun Williams who is currently in the treatment room.

An energetic display last weekend in the draw with Hull City, Ryan Tunnicliffe will be looking to improve on that performance.

A surprise inclusion last weekend, he scored the goal to give Millwall the lead against Hull.

Aiden O'Brien's first-half display was better than his second, despite the goal, and he will be looking to make it two consistent 45 minutes to get Millwall up and running on their travels.

Not the best of performances from Steve Morison this season, who has one goal to his name, but it is more than numbers in that column that the striker adds to the team.

Saturday is the quintessential match for the 35-year-old to put on a virtuoso performance to drag his side to an away win.

Lee Gregory typifies the Millwall spirit.

His performances in recent weeks have been up there with some of his best this term and if he can lead the line in that way again hopefully the rest of the team will be pulled along and ensure the Lions record their first away of the season.
