Steve McClaren has dubbed the three points won away to Bolton Wanderers as 'huge' as his QPR side ran out 2-1 winners at the University of Bolton stadium.
Luke Freeman was the star of the show for the Rs as the forward scored one and created another for Eberechi Eze.
“It is a huge three points for us,” McClaren told the club's official website.
“It was too much hard work (at the end) though. We should have finished the game just after half-time. We had to defend for our lives, put our body on the line and win headers, and the team did that.
“But it’s the first away win of the season and we need to build on that next week.”
Freeman man opened the scoring on the 26th minute as he slammed the ball home after some excellent work from Nahki Wells.
The former Bristol City man created the second ten minutes into the second half as his pinpoint cross was fired home by Eze to give Phil Parkinson's side a mountain to climb.
They pulled one back through a Josh Magennis free-kick in the 69th minute to make the last 20 minutes tense ones for McClaren's side, but they held on.
It now means that the Rs have gone four games unbeaten in the league to put their disastrous start to the season behind them and now sit 18th in the table.
The verdict
This was a big test for QPR but they surpassed expectations.
Bolton have had a great start to the season so to beat them at their own ground really is a huge result.
It propels the Rs out of the bottom three for the first time this season and you get the feeling that they will probably be able to steer clear of danger from here.
