Despite an abundance of attacking options, Aston Villa manager Dean Smith is bound to miss 30-year-old winger Albert Adomah, who is likely to be unavailable for the trip to the Riverside, to face an in-form Middlesbrough due to injury.

Adomah still has swelling around his ankle and Smith has hinted at his press-conference, that though Boro is a long-shot he hopes the player will be back for West Brom next week.

So how big a blow is the loss of Adomah?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

It is a huge blow for Aston Villa who have been reliant on Albert Adomah.

Having said that, with his absence, it means that Yannick Bolasie should start again and he is ever so effective, even more so than his injured teammate, perhaps.

It’s a blow to the continuity of Dean Smith’s side, but he has other suitable options to choose from while the winger is out on the sidelines.

Gary Hutchinson

It shouldn’t be with Bolasie and El Ghazi available, plus Kodjia has been playing out wide.

It’s not ideal, of course, Villa want their big players in the side.

Adomah has proven time and again he has resilience too, I like that in him.

George Harbey

It would be a blow for Villa if they didn’t have adequate replacements.

Bolasie was fantastic for Villa against Forest in his first start of the season, whilst El Ghazi made a good impact coming off the bench, rounding it off with a goal.

It’s not too bad of a blow.
