Many West Bromwich Albion fans have said they would be happy for Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers to continue as the holding midfield duo next season in what could be a Premier League return.
Slaven Bilic’s side have been excellent for the most part this season and much of that form has been down to the performances of Livermore and Sawyers, who have proved to be a superb partnership in the centre of midfield.
Both have played consistently well this season, working hard to provide Bilic and his defence, a security in the middle of the park.
Approaching the age of 31, Livermore is looking to return to the Premier League with West Brom having last played in England’s top flight with the Baggies in the 2017/2018 season.
Can you remember which West Brom manager signed each of these 15 players? Have a go now!
Sawyers, who moved to the Hawthorns last summer, will be looking to gain his first chance at playing amongst English football’s elite.
With Bilic expected to bring in some new faces this summer and bolster his options ahead of an expected promotion, sitting second in the Championship as things stand, you would expect Livermore and Sawyers to be two players who keep their place in the starting eleven.
Reacting to a question posed by Football League World’s Ben Crump via Facebook group WE AM THE BAGGIES which read: “Should we stick with Livermore and Sawyers in the holding midfield roles next season?” – fans gave their opinion….
Aaron Wallage: I agree
McKenzie Schoelzel: Sawyers yes but Livermore will be 31
Craig Belmore: OK for me
Nicholas Griffin: Yes, but would also bring one in to give them competition as we will be losing Barry and Brunt aswell
Mark Abraham: Next season, hahaha, they will be retired
Lee Foxall: It is a hard one
Andy Thompson: 100% yes
Paul Dalloway: Defo they been excellent every player has off games but majority of the season they have been excellent
