Having suffered back to back relegations, it was always going to be a tough assignment for manager Jack Ross as he plots to get Sunderland back into the Championship.

Ross has plenty to contend with, with both the board and the fans expecting to see this giant of a club get out of League One at the first attempt.

So amongst the many things Ross has to deal with, what is the biggest dilemma at Sunderland right now?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

It has to be up top, where he likes to play one striker but has three quality players.

Josh Maja was thought to be the third-choice, but he’s started the season incredibly well.

In an ideal world he’d partner Wyke in a 4-4-2, but what of Sinclair?

He hasn’t dropped to League One to warm the bench. It bodes well for the rest of the season.

Jay Taylor

How to get his side playing to the level they did at the start of the season, it has declined somewhat.

Two consecutive draws have come against Oxford and Fleetwood before that Jack Ross’ men were smashing teams by two or three goals.

The levels might have dipped and somewhat so getting his players to play to the tempo and pace that did in the opening weeks will be on his mind.

George Dagless

It's a tough one.

Sunderland look pretty solid at the moment across the pitch and it's been a long time since we have said that.

Perhaps they need someone to support Josh Maja in the goal-scoring stakes as he is by some way their top scorer already.
