Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Tomer Hemed on a permanent deal from Brighton and Hove Albion, with the striker’s arrival confirmed this evening.

Lee Bowyer has been hoping to sign the 32-year-old for some time now, with Charlton finally allowed to announce the signing on Monday evening, with Hemed signing a one-year deal with the Addicks.

Last year, Hemed struck seven goals whilst on loan with Queens Park Rangers, with the striker going in search of regular football after falling down the pecking order at his parent-club.

That’s due to the Seagulls’ Premier League status, with Hemed also part of the sqaud that helped put them there, having scored 11 goals in their promotion-winning campaign.

Given that, Charlton fans are delighted to see him join their squad, who have made a flying start to life back in the Championship.

That’s led to a good reaction, with some fans also pointing to the length of time this deal has taken.
