West Brom are reportedly eyeing a deal to bring Liverpool youngster, Ben Woodburn to the Hawthorns according to The Mirror.

Woodburn recently returned to Anfield after an unsuccessful loan spell with Sheffield United where he struggled for game time in Chris Wilder's side.

The Welshman will feel as though he has unfinished business in the Championship, and could be an excellent addition to the West Brom side as they challenge for promotion this season.

The Baggies are certain to be active in the transfer market after Harvey Barnes was recalled from his loan spell by Leicester, which leaves a sizeable void in the starting XI for Darren Moore's side.

Barnes had scored nine goals and provided six assists, so he is sure to be missed by West Brom, and they'll have to act swiftly to find a replacement.

Ben Woodburn could be exactly what they are after and if he can hit the ground running, then it could be one of the signings of the season if he can fire the Baggies back into the Premier League.

But is Woodburn the perfect replacement for Harvey Barnes after his frustrating time at Sheffield United?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson:

"Woodburn isn’t the perfect Barnes replacement I’m afraid.

"He doesn’t favour a central role, which Barnes was equally as comfortable in.

"In fact, West Brom is a move Woodburn should 100% NOT make.

"They’ve just loaned out an exciting winger in Burke because he doesn’t suit their style."

Louie Chandler:

"No, but it could work well.

"Woodburn will have a point to prove after having a far from enjoyable spell with Sheffield United and there is no doubt that West Brom suit his style of play more.

"Whether he can forget his time at Bramall Lane or use it positively will be crucial."

Jacob Potter:

"He surely should be given a chance!

"Woodburn didn't get a look in whilst at Sheffield United and he's been hard done by recently and is surely worth a punt by West Brom.

"A move to the Baggies could be just what he needs to showcase his exciting potential that saw him feature for both Wales and Liverpool previously.

"He would be the perfect Barnes replacement."

George Harbey:

"I just don't think he's on the same level as Barnes.

"He didn't really have the greatest of times at Sheffield United, and hasn't played an awful lot of games in recent times.

"Barnes has scored so many goals and provided plenty of assists, and it'll be difficult to replace him that easily."
