West Brom have had a bit of a wild spell in recent weeks, with news both on the pitch and off it coming thick and fast.

Darren Moore was sacked as manager a month ago now, causing a real stir in the footballing world with the Baggies still sat in fourth place.

But a heavy defeat to Leeds United and a draw with Ipswich Town made up the board’s mind and he was sacked.

Since then, Jimmy Shan has stood in and won all three of his matches, cementing their place in the play-off places and maintaining their faint hopes of going up automatically.

Moore, however, finally broke his silence on the matter, revealing to the Express and Star that he was shocked to be informed that he had lost his job, but wished the club well for the future.

But should he feel shocked?

We discuss…

George Harbey

“He has every right to be.

“The sacking was nothing short of disgraceful, when you take a look at how the likes of Stoke and Swansea have turned out this season.

“It’s even more bizarre that they have given Shan the job until the end of the season, what was the point in sacking him?”

Jacob Potter

“He had every right to feel aggrieved.

“I was stunned to see him dismissed, even though they had been in a stuttering run of form.

“It was a stupid time to sack him, and I fear that it could cost them promotion to the Premier League.”

Chris Gallagher

“Without a doubt.

“It's very rare to see a manager sacked when his side are in the play-offs and there wasn't really a danger of them dropping out either.

“Whether it was the right decision is debatable but you can certainly understand why Moore was shocked.”
