‘It can’t get any worse,’ ‘Seriously’ – Twitter reacts as Sunderland are linked with ex-La Liga man

Sunderland still have their most important decision of the summer to make, with the Black Cats yet to decide who will replace David Moyes as the club’s manager in the Sky Bet Championship next season.

Derek McInnes, one of Sunderland’s top targets, has already turned down the role, opting to stay with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, whilst others have also been linked.

Latest reports in the Independent are suggesting that a new consortium is looking to buy Sunderland from Ellis Short, which includes former Arsenal defender, Tony Adams.

These reports suggest Adams could be offered a role in the new set-up at the Stadium of Light, should a deal go through.

The 50-year old spent the end of the 2016/17 campaign managing La Liga outfit, Granada, but Adams could not prevent the Spanish club suffering relegation.
