Football League World's Brentford fan pundit Rhys Byron has given his verdict on Emiliano Marcondes, with the Danish midfielder currently impressing on loan in his homeland at Superligaen outfit FC Midtjylland.

The versatile attacking midfielder has notched two goals in 12 games so far, largely being deployed in unfamiliar positions on the left and right flanks.

The Dane has perhaps attracted Thomas Frank's attention as we head towards the January transfer window, with an early recall for the midfielder sure to be a possibility, particularly with the Bees set to have a congested run of game to come in the coming months.

We put the possibility of a return for Marcondes to Byron and here is what our fan pundit had to say on the prospect of the 24-year-old turning out at Griffin Park in the new year:

"Whilst Marcondes appears to be doing well in Denmark, I don’t think it’s sufficient enough to have Brentford recall him, particularly given the impressive form of Marcus Forss who is on loan at Wimbledon.

"If he were to be recalled, his primary role would be as a backup striker, whether it be to replace Watkins during a game or to simply give Watkins a rest.

"In any case I can’t see him having much of a first team presence if he were to return.

"This isn’t to say he’s not a good footballer it’s just that he isn’t to Championship standard and may be better suited to League One football.

"However it is pleasing to see the Dane performing well out on loan, as he deserves the chance to impress."

Marcondes will be hopeful of receiving an early recall in January, however it is fair to say that Marcus Forss is the most likely returnee out of the two after his strong showings at AFC Wimbledon this term.

Meanwhile, Brentford will be keen to pick up another three points this weekend as they travel to the Midlands to take on high-flying West Brom.
