A number of Derby County supporters have been reacting to the latest report from The Telegraph that the Rams are monitoring the situation of Luton Town forward James Collins ahead of the summer window.
Wayne Rooney’s side will be needing to bolster their attacking options in the summer, with the Rams having been heavily reliant on Colin Kazim-Richards to be their main scorer this term with him hitting seven goals in his 30 appearances.
In January the Rams sought to address that with the loan signing of Stoke City’s Lee Gregory and he has managed to chip in with two goals.
There has also been a bit of friction between Rooney and forward Martyn Waghorn, with the Derby manager calling out the way he had been training in the build-up to the Stoke game last time out and leaving him out of the squad as a result. That will have placed doubt over his potential future.
The Rams are now being linked with a potential move for Collins, who has managed to find the net seven times in 33 appearances this term after scoring 14 Championship goals last term.
If you don’t get at least 15/20 on this Derby County midfielder quiz, can you really call yourselves a Rams fan?
Many Derby fans were split over the potential signing, with some believing he does not have the quality that the Rams need to kick on next term. While others were suggesting that in Derby’s current financial situation it might be the best option they can get.
Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
He’s a clinical finisher and him a few years ago would’ve been a great signing, if we’re serious about our ambition we need better this summer imo

You need to supply him with decent ball to get him involved. Something we don’t do well

our standard really has dropped.

Will get slated for this but he’s actually not a bad scorer provided he gets decent service

I think it’s more of a … he’s cheap and has champ experience.
Wouldn’t be against a move for him. But we are crying out for some quality up front.

Jesus, is this really where we are

His work off the ball is fantastic, he's contributed the most defensively out of any other strikers this season. He's in good positions and most of his shots are good quality. As "underwhelming" as it seems, it's another in the mould we want regarding work off the ball too
