Lincoln City have announced that they have sold their initial allocation of 4121 tickets for their trip to Notts County this weekend, with a further allocation of 348 tickets expected to be sold prior to the game.

To put that into perspective, the average away attendance of Leeds United in the 2015/16 Championship season was 2,829, marking a massive achievement by the recently promoted side.

Crowds at Lincoln City have continued to rise following the success of last season’s league and FA Cup runs, with the Imps now able to boast the highest average home attendance in League Two this term.

Last year the Lincolnshire based side took 3200 fans to Burnley in the FA Cup, before filling out the away end - 9000 tickets - at the Emirates, in Lincoln’s 5-0 defeat to the eventual winners Arsenal.

The Verdict

Success will always increase crowds, and manager Danny Cowley has delivered both since his arrival at Sincil Bank last summer.

The former Braintree boss has brought new life to the club and the city, and promotion from the National League back into the Football League, coupled with the club’s remarkable Cup run, has brought the crowds flooding back into Sincil Bank.

The highest average attendance in the league and a massive away following, all Cowley’s men need to do now is deliver the adoring public back-to-back promotions.

Football League fans, are you impressed by the sheer numbers the Imps are taking to Nottingham?
