Lincoln City results and performances are the go-to for most Leeds United fans on a Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evening.

Leeds have opted to send young midfielder, Robbie Gotts, to Sincil Bank, with the hope of Michael Appleton offering the 21-year-old the perfect chance to establish himself in the EFL.

The Imps are enjoying a strong start to the League One season and will be hoping that they can maintain that, with the view of competing with the best for promotion into the Championship.

Appleton has, though, used Gotts sparingly so far.

Gotts' debut in a Lincoln shirt came in a 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth right at the start of November, with Kenny Jackett's side targeting the youngster, who was playing in a full-back role.

A move away from the League One fixture list resulted in Gotts getting his chance in midfield, which is a much more familiar role for the Leeds loanee.

He assisted a goal and helped Lincoln to a 6-0 win in the FA Cup against Forest Green Rovers, whilst he also won a Man of the Match award (with a little help from the Leeds fans) as the Imps beat Man City under-21s in the Papa John's Trophy.

Saturday saw Gotts back on the bench against Accrington Stanley, with Appleton calling for his service on 80 minutes. However, Gotts was unable to inspire Lincoln to a win, with 10-men Accrington holding them to a goalless draw.

So far, it has been stop-start for Gotts and, in truth, he hasn't got going at all in League One. Leeds fans will hope that their regular checks on the midfielder start showing more time on the pitch rather than the Lincoln bench.
