Thanks to former boss Billy Davies' previous efforts to sign them, every transfer window there is always the one Forest fan who will say 'when are we signing Whittingham and Pratley' - but this summer the former could actually move to The City Ground.

While Darren Pratley has slowly declined down the Football League, Peter Whittingham has continued to impress in the Championship for Cardiff City.

The left footed midfielder may be 32-years-old, but there can be no denying that his quality would improve a Forest midfield that needs some more experience, flair and leadership.

Whittingham is available on a free transfer this summer with current boss Neil Warnock not yet agreeing a deal with him to stay at the Cardiff City Stadium, and with Mark Warburton surely set to add a number of new faces to his squad this summer, the Cardiff midfielder would be a perfect fit.

At 32-years-old, Forest fans have a right to question whether or not he is too old now, but with the experienced midfielder David Vaughan still pulling the strings in the heart of the Forest midfield at 34, Whittingham will undoubtedly be able to perform at this level.
