Sheffield United struggled to a narrow defeat at Hull City last night as they fell to a 1-0 loss at the K-Com in what was a miserable showing which did not impress manager Chris Wilder at all.

The Blades were poor throughout and looked short of the form which has seen them climb towards the playoff spots, and the three points lost could well have a massive impact come the end of the campaign.

United have looked short in front of goal of late, and star strike ace Leon Clarke is now seven goals without a game and has only one in his last nine, following an excellent run of form before Christmas which saw him sky rocket to the top of the Championship golden boot race.

However, it could now be time for Chris Wilder to shuffle his pack, and with controversial striker Ched Evans waiting in the wings following his return from injury, Wilder could well opt to give the Welshman his chance between now and the end of the season.

Evans has waited patiently for his chance and has been unlucky with injury, and despite some fans questioning whether he has the ability to make it in the Championship, Evans could well come in with a big point to prove.

The last time the former Man City man played a full season for the Blades he notched over 35 goals for United, and despite a less than impressive showing for Chesterfield last term, there is still signs of the hunger and finishing what made Evans such a star previously.

With Clarke struggling for goals, giving Evans his chance over the coming games could well work out for all parties, giving Clarke a nudge, and also given Evans his chance in the first team.

Blades fans, what do you think? Time for Evans to have a go? Let us know in the comments!
