Sheffield United are still keen on a move for Fleetwood Town striker Devante Cole, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The 22-year-old was a main target for the Blades in the summer, as Chris Wilder's side submitted a bid for the striker - however a deal failed to materialise.

Would this be a wise move by Wilder to go back in for him in January?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

I really like Cole, and I definitely feel that he can get goals at this level.

He has scored for fun at Fleetwood, and appears ready to make the step up in the new year. He could work very well alongside Clarke or Sharp.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, he's ready to play in the Championship.

The forward is quick, has good movement and is always improving.

You wouldn't say the Blades are desperate for a striker but Cole could still give them something extra for the second half of the season.

George Dagless

I think it could be.

Cole has come on leaps and bounds for Fleetwood this season and looks ready to kick on again.

A step up might not come with the League One side this season now, though, so the Blades should have a chance.

They'd have a lot of forwards then, though.

Alfie Burns

Of course, Cole is young and has scored plenty of goals this season for Fleetwood Town, but is he really what they need?

Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp are one of the Championship’s form duos, whilst Clayton Donaldson and Ched Evans are waiting in the wings.

For me, Wilder needs to be prioritising strengthening his central midfield and wing-back options in January, although keeping tabs on Cole heading into next summer could be a wise move.
