Despite the signing of Champions League winner John Obi Mikel, Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis seems to be in the market for another midfielder, with Fulham player Stefan Johansen the latest to be linked with a move to the Riverside, according to a report on TEAMtalk

The 28-year-old Norwegian has been told he can leave by his manager Claudio Ranieri, despite being an integral part of the Cottagers' promotion winning side last season.

So would Johansen be a good addition at the Riverside?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"Is he needed?

"Yes, Johansen is a quality player but having just brought in John Obi Mikel on what are, I imagine, sizeable wages, it seems silly to waste more on a similar player.

"Boro fans want to players arrive who can give their team an attacking edge."

Jacob Potter

"They don’t need anymore midfielders surely?

"Boro already have a ridiculous amount of midfielders in their side this season, and there would be no guarantees of regular football for Johansen.

"This would be a bizarre decision if he was to make the move to the Riverside."

Gary Hutchinson

“I’m not so sure.

“Boro don’t have a problem in midfield do they?

“They’re not scoring enough, that’s where their issues lay.

“I think with Mikel signing recently, this is a transfer they don’t need at all.”
