Scunthorpe United have completed the signing of Nicky Featherstone on a week-to-week contract, according to the BBC.
The 25-year-old was released by fellow League One side Walsall at the end of last season, and he joins up with the Iron, who currently sit at the foot of the table.
Wilcox’s side have lost their opening three league games of the season, but they did manage a shock 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Capital One Cup.
The former Hull City midfielder played 29 times for Walsall last term, making a total of 65 appearances in a two-year spell at the Bescot Stadium.
After starting his career with Scunthorpe’s near neighbours Hull City, the Goole born player managed just 16 games in four years for the Tigers.
During his time at the KC Stadium, he went out on loan to North Ferriby United, Grimsby and Hereford, before making his move to Edgar Street permanent in 2011.
Following Hereford’s drop out of the Football League at the end of the 2011-12 season, he joined up with Dean Smith’s Walsall side in 2012.
He could be available for Scunthorpe’s trip to Yeovil this Saturday, as the Iron go searching for that first league win of the season to lift the newly promoted side off the bottom of the table.
