Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town are interested in signing Huddersfield Town forward Collin Quaner, according to reports from the Sunday Mirror via the Examiner Live.

The 27-year old is massively out of favour at Huddersfield, making just two substitute appearances for the Terriers as they struggle towards the foot of the Premier League this term.

The 6-foot-3 forward, who can play either up front or out wide, was also left out of the squad that travelled to Bristol City in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, with a move away from the John Smith’s Stadium looking ever more likely in January.

Since signing from Union Berlin in January 2017, the German forward has scored just three goals in thirty starts in all competitions, but in a bid to improve the Tractor Boys’ firepower up front, Ipswich boss Paul Lambert  has identified Quaner as a January transfer target.

Lambert’s men currently find themselves ten points adrift of safety in the Sky Bet Championship table, after just two wins in the league all season long.

The Verdict

Quaner would certainly add a different dimension and a bit of pace and power to Ipswich’s squad, however in terms of goals, I’m not sure he can be the man to fire Ipswich away from danger.

He just hasn’t scored enough goals in England, since his move from Germany, so it’s a risky addition to say the least, if a move materialises.

They also signed Will Keane, who again, isn’t really a clinical goalscorer when you look at his record - I worry for Ipswich this season.
