With the 2022/23 EFL season getting underway this weekend, Ipswich Town are kicking off their campaign with a visit from Bolton Wanderers

This should be a good contest between two sides who are eager to push for promotion next year.

Last season Ipswich finished the season in 11th place whilst Bolton were sat ninth in the table just three points higher.

However, both Kieran McKenna and Ian Evatt have been working hard during the transfer window so far to bring in new signings that can strengthen their side so this will no doubt be an interesting test for both sides.

Latest team news:

New Ipswich signing Dominic Ball missed the Tractorboys' pre-season game against Southend on Tuesday night due to having picked up a knock.

McKenna confirmed he would take "a little more time than we first thought" meaning he may not be ready for the weekend.

However, his side are otherwise looking in good shape.

There had been worries over Jon Dadi Bodvarsson after he missed the club's final pre-season game but Evatt has confirmed he will be available.

Therefore, the Whites have a fully fit squad apart from Eoin Toal and loan term absentees Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove.

Score prediction:

This is a game that should be rather tight given the fact both sides want to play an exciting style of football this season and also have high ambitions.

Therefore, we're going to go for a 2-2 draw to open the season.
