Crystal Palace defender Jaroslaw Jach is not a target for Ipswich Town in the final week of the summer transfer window, a report from The East Anglian Daily Times has revealed.

It was reported over the weekend that Ipswich, along with League One rivals Wigan Athletic, were interested in taking Jach on loan for the rest of the season.

Now however, it appears as though the 27-year-old will in fact not be making the move to Portman Road before the market closes at the end of this month.

According to this latest update, Ipswich are currently not pursuing a move for Jach, despite still seemingly looking to add in other positions.

It is thought that with George Edmundson, Cameron Burgess, Luke Woolfenden, Toto Nsiala and Janoi Donacien all on the books, the Tractor Boys are not looking for another centre back at this moment in time.

Since joining Palace in 2018, Jach has made just one appearance for the club, spending the majority of his time out on loan with other sides.

The Verdict

This does seem to be a sensible stance for Ipswich to take with regards to a potential move for Jach.

While you can understand that Ipswich may want to add some more players to their squad, given their slow start to the season, and the fact that they are short in certain positions, centre back is not an area they look like they need to add to.

As a result, this suggestion that they are not pursuing Jach in the final week of the window does seem to make sense, given his status as a Premier League players means he may not be cheap either.

However, given it seems hard to see Jach forcing his way into Palace's senior side this season, it may still not be a surprise if he is to head out on loan in the next week.
