Ipswich Town set to launch bid for Rangers striker this summer

Rangers’ Joe Garner has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Sky Bet Championship club, Ipswich Town, reports the Express.
Mick McCarthy is targeting a £500,000 deal for the striker as he looks to bolster his squad after a disappointing 2016/17 campaign.
Garner has only been at Ibrox for 12-months, arriving in Glasgow from Preston North End last summer for £1.4m.
However, Pedro Caixinha may be tempted to sell Garner to fund his own rebuilding of the Rangers squad this summer.
Garner scored ten goals in 34 appearances for Rangers last season, as The Gers suffered a disappointing campaign, finishing third and 39 points behind Celtic.
The 29-year old has a fantastic record in English football, having scored 57 goals between 2013 and 2016 for Preston, including 27 during the 2014/15 season as Simon Grayson’s side were promoted into the Championship.
McCarthy will be looking to add a striker to his squad in the coming months, having failed to replace Daryl Murphy, who left Portman Road for Newcastle United last summer.
