Ipswich Town are set to move for Charlton Athletic defender Morgan Fox in January, according to Goal.

Can Charlton Athletic shock their former boss and beat Premier League Crystal Palace tonight?
Ipswich are eyeing a move for Morgan Fox

The 21-year-old defender is seen as a replacement for Tyrone Mings who looks set to leave Portman Road in January, with Arsenal chasing his signature.

Goal understands that Ipswich Town scouts have earmarked Fox as the ideal replacement for Mings, and will table a bid in the upcoming transfer window.

The Chelmsford-born defender has spent his whole career at the London club, and has amassed 13 appearances for Bob Peeters' side during the 2014/15 campaign.

Fox had a stint at Sky Bet League One outfit Notts County last season, and made seven appearances for the club.

He has also made seven appearances for the Wales under-21 national side, and his impressive displays for Charlton Athletic could see him earn a senior call-up in the near future.

Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town currently sit in fourth position in the Sky Bet Championship, having accrued 38 points from 21 league games, whilst Charlton lie in tenth position in the division.

The future of Tyrone Mings is up in the air at the moment, and if the club did lose him, they would without doubt need to find an adequate replacement.
