TWTD have reported that Bersant Celina's move to Stoke City ahead of next season has collapsed despite having previously been in pole position to gain the services of the 25-year-old this summer.

However, TWTD have now issued an update that could be a massive boost for Ipswich Town in their pursuit of their former loan player.

According to the report, the Kosovan's move fell through due to issues over a work permit.

Despite having played in England last year, if Celina was to make a new move he would have soapily for a new work permit.

However, having turned down the opportunity to join Kosovo's national squad numerous times last season so he could play for the Tractorboys, it's understood that he wouldn't qualify for the new work permit.

With Preston North End were also said to have been previously interested in the player's services this summer, it seems they too could see this one come to an end.

However for Kieran McKenna's side, this could help their efforts. According to the TWTD report, if Celina was to return to Portman Road next season he would be able to get a continuation of his previous work permit that allowed him to play for Ipswich last season.

Therefore, if the forward is wanting to make a move back to England this summer, it seems as though Ipswich would be his only option.

This update doesn't mean that Ipswich are sure to get their man either though despite him being a fan favourite during his time with the club last season.

According to journalist Ertan Suzgan, Turkish side Kasimpasa have made an offer for the player and TWTD say Antalyaspor are also interested in the player and a move to either would not be impacted by the issues of the work permit.

The Verdict:

The issues over the work permit for Bersant Celina do give Ipswich a fair boost in their pursuit to gain the player's services as they are now the only English side he is able to join.

It's currently unknown how Kasimpasa's offer for the 25-year-old matched up to Dijon's valuation of the player but given no deal has been done between the sides yet, you do question whether it was what Dijon wanted.

The French club need to shift the attacker from their wage bill ahead of the new season so they will be eager to make a move go through this summer.

It's yet to see whether the Tractorboys will get a deal through but given he was well loved at the club and already knows his surroundings, you can't help but think this could be a good solution for all parties.
