Ipswich Town have revealed they will be assessing striker Will Keane as they look to see whether he will be fit for Saturday's game against Reading.

The Tractor Boys are currently nine points from safety - a position the Royals currently occupy, so if they are to have any chance of survival you would say this is a must-win game.

Therefore, they will be desperate to have Keane available, with the former Hull man scoring two in his last two games.

But, he went off with a hamstring complaint and boss Paul Lambert provided a fitness update on the 26-year-old when speaking to the official site today.

"Will has been terrific for us so it’s obviously disappointing for him and for us that he’s picked up an injury.

"He’s working with the physios and we will know more before the weekend. We will do everything we can to get him back as soon as possible."

Lambert's side head into the game without a win in seven, although the last three matches have ended in draws.

The Verdict

This is a massive game for Ipswich as they need to win to keep any faint hopes of survival they have alive, so Keane is going to be important.

He's done well since arriving at the club and gives the side something different in the final third.

But, you'd have to say it doesn't look good as he was forced off with a hamstring injury on Saturday and for it to have healed in a week would be a massive surprise.
