Ipswich Town are interested in signing Nottingham Forest striker Will Swan on loan, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

Swan has been given a taste of first-team football under Chris Hughton this season, making his debut in the home defeat to Swansea City back in November.

The striker - who also featured against Reading the week after - was also rewarded with a professional contract not long after.

Grabban? Ameobi? – Can you name which Nottingham Forest player scored each these 15 goals this season?

With Lewis Grabban now returning to the first-team picture and battling it out with Lyle Taylor for a place up top, a loan move away from the City Ground could now be in the offing for Swan.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times, League One side Ipswich Town are interested in taking Swan on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Tractor Boys are looking for attacking reinforcements, with James Norwood and Oliver Hawkins out injured and Kayden Jackson suspended.

The Verdict

This would be a move which suits both parties.

Swan has been a prolific goalscorer at youth level for the Reds, and it makes sense to send him out on loan as he is never going to get into the team ahead of Grabban or Taylor.

Ipswich are a big club playing at a decent level in League One, and it's a division which Brennan Johnson and Marcus McGuane have thrived at this season.

They need another attacking option in the final third, and Swan could be an excellent addition for them on loan.
