Ipswich Town are reportedly thinking of a swoop for Dundalk defender Sean Gannon, according to The Irish Sun.

Sean Gannon could be the latest man to join the Dundalk exodus for English football after star duo Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle both joined Preston North End recently.

Dundalk were recently dumped out of the Europa League group stage but impressed in the European competition and their players earned lots of plaudits.

With the Irish league operating at a different time to the system in England, this means that a number of players are out of contract now and available on a free transfer.

Sean Gannon fits into this category so Ipswich are weighing up a move for the free agent full back.

The 25-year-old has been named PFAI Team of the Year for the past three consecutive seasons and Dundalk will have their work cut out to keep him at the club.

Ipswich's interest in the Dubliner started when they were scouting Daryl Horgan.
