The future of Ipswich Town midfielder, Alan Judge has been the hot topic of conversation recently, with the Irishman being linked with a move to QPR according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

Judge made 19 league appearances for the Tractor Boys last season, but was unable to stop them from being relegated into League One.

This has led to speculation on his future at the club, despite only arriving from Brentford in January 2019.

In a recent interview (quotes sourced from the East Anglian Daily Times), Ipswich boss, Paul Lambert revealed that Judge has requested a move away from Portman Road.

"Judgey has spoken to me and I think he would like to go."

Lambert went on to admit that he doesn't know where any potential deal between the club and QPR stands, but knows that Judge has his eye on a move elsewhere in the near future.

"It's his prerogative to say what he wants to do, but I don't know the state of where that's at.

"He's spoken to me and I guess it's over to Judgey to see what he wants to do. I think he wants to go."

Ipswich will be hoping to get their promotion bid off to the best possible start, when they take on Burton Albion on the opening day of the League One season.

The Verdict:

This will be hugely frustrating for Ipswich fans ahead of the new season.

Judge hasn't been at full fitness, and some supporters will feel as though he's treated the club as a stepping stone so that he can return to the Championship when a new club comes calling.

Ipswich will be keen to move him on as soon as possible I think, especially as he's voiced his intentions to leave before the transfer window closes.
