Ipswich Town face Championship competition for out of contract attacker

According to Bolton News, both Ipswich Town and Birmingham City are interested in signing Bolton’s Liam Feeney.

Bolton News reports that a number of clubs are keen on signing the winger, who spent the final couple months of last season on loan at Portman Road. Feeney is out of contract at Bolton so will be available on a free to whoever signs him.

The Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that the club are in talks with the player, however it’s understood that his wages are an issue, so Feeney may not sign for Ipswich, who are favourites to do so.

McCarthy said “we’re talking to him and his agent” and the end of the season, he also added “I’d like him to stay”.

During his loan spell at Portman Road, Liam Feeney made 9 appearances and scored 1 goal. He has spent 3 years with Bolton Wanderers, scoring 8 goals in 92 appearances.

The 29-year-old has lots of experience in the Championship, having played for the likes of Millwall and Blackburn before joining Bolton and then Ipswich.
