Ipswich Town eyeing loan move for striker

Ipswich Town are keen on a loan move for Burnley’s teenage striker Dan Agyei, according to the Daily Mirror.

Agyei signed for The Clarets over a year ago from AFC Wimbledon and he arrived at Turf Moor with huge expectation that he would break into the first team relatively soon.

He has spent the first half of this season on loan with League One strugglers Coventry City, where he netted five times in 19 appearances.

Brentford have also been rumoured to be interested in signing the youngster but Sean Dyche is believed to be keen to keep hold of Agyei and has already knocked back Ipswich’s interest.

Agyei was part of the Clarets squad that travelled to Manchester City on new years day and although he didn’t make the bench, Dyche likes to have the youngsters in and around the first team scene at Turf Moor.

It is expected that Ipswich will go back in for Agyei and that they haven’t been put off by Dyche’s apparent urge to keep the young forward.
