Ipswich Town complete late deadline day deal for versatile teenage talent

Ipswich Town have completed a deadline day deal for Irish youngster Barry Cotter, their official website has confirmed.
The 19-year-old has joined the Tractor Boys for an undisclosed fee from Limerick, and will be hoping to make quite the impression at Portman Road and impress manager Mick McCarthy in the final four months of the Championship season.
Cotter, who has the advantage of being able to play in numerous positions across both the back and midfield, has signed a three and a half year deal with the club, tying him down to Ipswich until 2021.
It’s been a fairly quiet month for the Tractor Boys so far, a pattern which sums up their season as whole really, as they have struggled for any sort of consistency and find themselves out of contention for a playoff spot at the moment.
However, the addition of what appears to be an exciting new talent will be a boost for the club and manager McCarthy, who is having to work within the confines of a tight budget this season as he looks to steady the ship but maintain their Championship status.
Ipswich fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
