Ipswich Town have confirmed that they have completed the signing of defender, Kane Vincent-Young on a four-year deal.

The full-back joins from League Two side, Colchester United, where he was a regular for a number of seasons with the U's.

The 23-year-old made 40 league appearances last season in League Two, and Ipswich boss, Paul Lambert has seemingly been impressed with what he has seen from Vincent-Young.

The Tractor Boys will be targeting an immediate return back into the Championship, after a disappointing league campaign so them relegated from the Championship last term.

Vincent-Young started his career with Tottenham's academy, but made a name for himself with Colchester, as he made a total of 126 appearances for the club.

It's likely that he'll be challenging Janoi Donacien for a starting spot, but if his performances of the last few seasons are anything to go by, then he shouldn't have a problem in breaking into Lambert's starting XI.

He could be in line to make his debut for Ipswich when they are next in action against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday evening, as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart bit of business by Ipswich.

Vincent-Young has already shown that he is too good for League Two, and I think he's more than capable of playing his part in Ipswich's promotion push this season.

Lambert needed strength in depth in defence, and the full-back will certainly provide them with that in this year's league campaign.
