Ipswich Town braced for late bids for star man with Premier League club leading chase

Ipswich Town could face a late fight to keep hold of goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski, who is being pursued by Crystal Palace, according to Alan Nixon.

The experienced stopper has been in fine form once again this term and Palace manager Roy Hodgson is known to be keen to add a new goalkeeper to his squad in the January window, and clearly sees the imposing Tractor Boys stopper as the ideal signing.

The 30-year-old has been with the East Anglian club since 2014, going on to make in excess of 120 appearances in what has been an impressive spell at Portman Road where he has seen his reputation blossom during his time with the club.

However, he would surely not pass up the opportunity to make a move to the Premier League, and with Ipswich not looking likely to mount any sort of challenge for promotion this term, Bialkowski could opt to try and force a move through.

Manager Mick McCarthy will no doubt be keen to keep hold of his number one with so little time remaining in the transfer window, but will know he could be powerless to resist if the bid is right and his ‘keeper wishes to move on.
