Ipswich Town have confirmed that Luke Chambers has agreed a new deal with the club, putting an end to speculation about the defender’s future.
Chambers has penned a new two-year deal with Ipswich, which is a huge boost for Mick McCarthy’s side heading into pre-season.
The 31-year old has made 47 appearances for McCarthy’s side this season, and has played a major role in helping Ipswich avoid a potential relegation battle, putting in some fine displays.

This season at Portman Road has been a disappointing one, with McCarthy’s side currently 16th in the table, with just one fixture of the season remaining.
However, Chambers expressed his delight at signing his new deal before setting his teammates a lofty target for next season, he told @Official_ITFC: “I never envisaged leaving, so the last six-months have been strange.
“I just want to get ourselves back and fighting around the Play-Offs next year.”
McCarthy’s side suffered back-to-back defeats against Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday in their last two Championship fixtures, but will be aiming to finish the campaign positively when they face Nottingham Forest on Sunday lunchtime.
