Ipswich Town among six club hunt for Reading FC player as the deadline looms

Sky Bet Championship outfit Ipswich Town are the latest team to be linked with Reading striker Dominic Samuel, leading a chase which involves up to six interested parties, according to HITC Sport.

The 22 year-old has been forced to play second fiddle under manager Jaap Stam at the Madejski and has seen his chances in the blue and white hooped shirt limited, prompting a potential move away this month.

Samuel has netted just two goals this season and has struggled to make the impact many had hoped, especially having returned from a loan spell at Gillingham last year where he impressed.

His career has also included stints at Dagenham & Redbridge, Coventry City and Colchester United.

Dominic Samuel was earlier attracting a keenness from League One with Phil Brown’s Southend United chasing a forward this month.

Mick McCarthy at Ipswich may lose one of his key players as Luke Chambers might head back to Nottingham Forest, whilst for Reading, they look to complete a loan deal for West Ham United’s Reece Oxford.

It would be a surprise for Samuel to leave the Royals, especially if the Berkshire club don’t bring in another striker before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Ipswich Town fans, is Dominic Samuel the man to revive your career? How much would it cost to acquire his services?

Royals supporters, would you miss the former England under-19 international?
