Ipswich Town agree loan deal for Premier League midfielder

Crystal Palace forward Jonny Williams is set to join Ipswich Town on-loan, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The move will be the Welshman’s fourth spell at Portman Road and he will give manager Mick McCarthy another good attacking option going forward, as the Championship season continues to progress.

Williams has struggled for games at Palace since making the step up from the academy back in 2011 and has spent much of his professional career on-loan with Championship sides.

As well as the Tractor Boys, he’s had spells with MK Dons and Nottingham Forest and appears to know this level extremely well.

Ipswich have had a slow transfer window by all accounts, bringing in just six players and supporters will be pleased to see the sight of another name coming in at Portman Road. Earlier last week they brought in strikers Leon Best and Tom Lawrence, both of whom will hope to add goals to an Ipswich promotion push.

Mick McCarthy’s side have started the season reasonably well and going into the international break, they sit 11th in the table on eight points.

Ipswich fans, is this a good signing moving forward? Have you been impressed by Williams during his other stints at the club? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
