Ipswich Town's Bartosz Białkowski has sensationally blasted former manager Paul Hurst for his treatment of him in his spell with the club this season.

Hurst was dismissed towards the end of October after a disastrous start to the season with the Tractor Boys has left them facing relegation to League One.

Białkowski was dropped for his side's crucial game against local rivals Norwich City by Hurst, a move which was seemingly not communicated to the shot-stopper until shortly before kick-off.

Speaking with ITV ahead of their game against West Brom, the goalkeeper accused his former manager of lacking bravery.

"The manager just read the team out in the dressing room, so that's the way I found out.

"If he wanted to drop me, that's fine with me, but at least have the bravery to tell me about it."

The Polish goalkeeper has won the club's Player of the Season award for three consecutive seasons and he will be hoping to impress Paul Lambert, who was appointed as the club's new manager shortly after Hurst's departure.

He also claimed that Hurst never communicated and branded the treatment towards him as disrespectful:

"He never spoke to me. I just thought it was a bit disrespectful."

Białkowski has since returned to the starting XI under Lambert and he will be hoping to play a vital part in the club's season, which is set to be a tough one as they battle to retain their Championship status.

The Verdict

Białkowski has been Ipswich's standout player in recent seasons.

It came as a surprise when he was dropped, and the manager's treatment of him is an even bigger surprise.

Hurst had clearly lost the dressing room early at Portman Road.
