Ipswich make intriguing player call ahead of Reading clash tomorrow

Published

on

Ipswich Town have little to play for this season now as we head into the final two games.

For much of the year, the Tractor Boys had been hoping that a play-off place would materialise but with the struggle between some fans and Mick McCarthy increasing, the Suffolk side eventually fell off of the pace.

‘Big Mick’ has gone, then, and ahead of the club appointing a new manager, it remains to be seen just which players¬†take the end of the campaign as their chance to shine.

One young player seems set for a chance, though, with Luke Woolfenden being recalled from his loan at Bromley ahead of the trip to Reading this weekend:

Perhaps we’re reading into this too much but with the Tractor Boys having nothing left to play for this year, now might be the right time to see what the defender can do.

Certainly, it seems significant the club has mentioned the fact he’s ready to play v Reading.

The Verdict

It’s perhaps not the biggest mystery ever in the world but it might provide a sense of intrigue for Ipswich fans.

Now is as good a time as any to try some new things ahead of a new manager coming in and so it remains to be seen if the recently recalled defender gets a run out.
