Ipswich Town will be eager to bounce back from their loss at QPR last weekend as they host Bolton Wanderers at Portman Road this time out.

The Tractor Boys started the season pretty well but in recent games they have fallen by the wayside a little bit, to the annoyance of those that bet on football, and so they'll be looking to rediscover that early form.

For sure, if they can do that they will be play-off contenders and a win against a struggling Bolton team could certainly prove a catalyst for that.

The Trotters are in a relegation battle already this season but complacency cannot creep in for the men from Suffolk and that should be aided but the seemingly imminent return to the side of Luke Chambers.

The skipper has been injured since the win against Millwall earlier this season but is back in training and - according to the club's website - he is going to declare himself fit for the visit of Bolton.

He told the site:

"I’m hoping to be involved at the weekend.

"I haven’t had many injuries in my career at all really so this one was frustrating but I have been through all the rehab and it feels nothing compared to what I played through last year so it’s a strange one.

"I’m feeling good and providing today and Friday’s training sessions go well, I genuinely feel I’m ready to play."

Certainly, Chambers is a key part of Mick McCarthy's team and so it is obviously a bonus if he is going to be available to play after an ankle ligament issue.

Ipswich are currently seventh in league, five points off of Leeds on top and with a game in hand.

The Verdict

It's rare to see Chambers out of action thanks to injuries and so fans will obviously be pleased to hear that he is ready to come back into the side.

For sure, he was a big part in helping them with their great early season form and he'll be looking to help them get on the victory trail again by beating Bolton this weekend.
