Championship strugglers Ipswich Town are edging closer to completing a deal for Brentford midfielder Alan Judge.
The Irish midfielder has struggled to get back to his best following a horrific injury two seasons back, and according to Sky Sports, the Tractor Boys are now in firm talks with both the Bees and Judge about making a move for the midfielder.
The 30-year-old was one of the most sought after talents in the Championship a few seasons back before he suffered his leg break injury, ironically an injury he suffered against Ipswich at Portman Road.
A full Irish international, there is little doubting the quality he does possess in his locker, but the Bees are looking to get some money for Judge before his contract expires in the summer in what could be a move which suits all parties best.
Brentford have struggled themselves this season to make an impression on the play-off picture given their form in recent seasons, and allowing Judge to move on could well free up some funds for the club to go out and bring in fresh blood before the end of the January window.
This is a good signing, if, and only if, Judge is fully fit and firing.
It was a horrible injury he suffered and it can be normal for players to take some time to get back to their best. It appears to be the case with Judge here.
However, if he hits form, then he could well be a brilliant signing for the Tractor Boys.
