According to BBC Sport, Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy believes that the fact that he is still first team manager at Portman Road is an indication of the good job he has done.

Norwich City boss Alex Neil, Derby County manager Steve McClaren and Wigan’s Warren Joyce were all recently sacked but Mick McCarthy insists that he is still doing a good job with Ipswich Town because he is still manager.

Mick McCarthy believes that he has done a “really good job” at Ipswich over the past four years although he did concede that it has been tougher this season.

Ipswich Town are currently 16th in the Sky Bet Championship and sit just seven points clear of the relegation zone as we enter the final nine games of the season.

But Mick McCarthy defended himself from critics, stating:

“We haven’t spent Aston Villa money.

“We haven’t spent Norwich money.

“We haven’t spent vast sums of money.

“And we’ve been competitive every season up until this one.”

Ipswich fans – do you agree with McCarthy’s comments? Has he done a good job? Should you have sacked him by now? Let us know in the comments below…
