Accrington Stanley star Kayden Jackson is attracting a lot of interest this summer, according to reports.

HITC Sport are reporting that Ipswich Town and Preston North End are interested in Jackson, while Accrington have stood firm and rejected bids from Rotherham United and Peterborough United.

Posh eye Jackson as a potential replacement for Championship target Jack Marriott - who hit 33 goals last season.

Rotherham are hoping to bolster their attack too after winning promotion back to the Championship but Accrington rejected their bid for Jackson.

Meanwhile, Ipswich and Preston remain interested and could swoop for the 24-year-old.

The former Barnsley striker was in prolific form last season, scoring 15 goals and contributing with a further 16 assists to help Accrington win promotion to League One.

Accrington want more than £1m if they are to part ways with the impressive striker, who only joined the club last summer on a two-year deal.

Jackson had previously played for Swindon Town, Tamworth, Wrexham and Grimsby Town in his career but enjoyed the best spell of his career last year at Accrington.

The Verdict

Jackson is clearly a top striker in the lower leagues but more than £1m is a major outlay for someone who has only just started proving himself.

The step up from League Two to the Championship is sizeable as well.

If Jackson replicates his form in League One this season, his value will rocket.
