Reading will be looking to get themselves some new signings this summer but will have to box clever thanks to financial restraints.

The Royals will be hopeful that under Jose Gomes things this coming season are going to be a bit more positive than they have in the last couple of years.

For sure, the Portuguese showed some good early signs last year that he could get them going the right way up the table, but squad additions will still be needed.

One man that might just be a part of a recruitment drive, too, is Nelson Oliveira.

The Verdict

Whilst you cannot jump to conclusions, this might well suggest that the striker is going to be at Reading again next season and it will at least boost fans' hopes of him doing that.

On his day he can be a quality striker but at Norwich there seemed to be some kind of disconnect with manager Daniel Farke from early on in the German's tenure.

There is no doubting the player's quality, though, and with Jose Gomes coming from the same part of the world as him, you can see why he might be open to a more prolonged update.

We may see in the coming days whether or not this is going to amount to anything.
