Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet continues to add to his squad as he prepares for the imminent Championship season, with Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ivan Sunjic the latest player the Blues have made a bid for, according to reports from Croatian news outlet Vecernji List.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder made 24 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb last season as they went on to win the Croatian first division.

So with their offer reportedly accepted, would Sunjic be a good signing if he agrees to move to St Andrew's?

We discuss........

Jacob Potter

"This is a real statement of intent by the Blues if this report is true.

"Supporters will have been keen to see the money from the Che Adams sale reinvested into the squad, and that’s evidently happening if their bid for Sunjic has been accepted.

"He’s still only 22, and has already caught the eye with a number of impressive showings for Dinamo Zagreb.

"He made 24 league appearances for the Croatian champions, which shows that he’s highly-rated, and it’ll be interesting to see whether he can adjust to the physical demands of English football or not.

"Only time will tell with that, but it’s good to see Birmingham adding some much-needed quality to their midfield ahead of the new season.

"If they can add a few more fresh faces to their squad before the transfer window closes, then supporters won’t be fearing relegation."

Ben Lang

"This could turn out to be one of the signings of the window. Sunjic could provide the midfield presence that Birmingham have been craving for some time.

"He can orchestrate play from deep and is no stranger to playing long balls, and the Blues would really benefit from having him dictate play. The fact he is still young also means he can develop further and could even reach new heights at the club.

"This is also something of a statement signing from the Blues, as Sunjic has been the subject of interest from other European sides this window. Leeds were also interested, so the fact Sunjic chose Birmingham reflects that the club still has big appeal.

"The arrival of Sunjic would cap off a successful week for Pep Clotet's side following the arrival of Jake Clarke-Salter, and these two signings reflect that Clotet will be looking to play an progressive, passing-based style of football next term."

George Dagless

"Intriguing.

"For starters, that is decent money for a side that financially hasn't always been the most stable in recent times.

"Of course, they have the money from the sales of Adams and Jota and so that will help fund this deal but it remains to be seen if Sunjic is worth it.

"A defensive midfielder with a decent reputation already, it could be an impressive signing but Blues need to add to their attacking arsenal this summer as well.

"Let's see if they can still do that after this deal goes through."
