According to a report by The Daily Record, Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty would be open to a return to Glasgow Rangers.
Lafferty is the undoubted star of the Northern Ireland international team, with 20 goals in 58 games for his country.
However, he has failed to get his career going at Norwich City, managing just 11 league starts since joining in summer 2014.
The 6’4” centre forward has been linked with a move away from Carrow Road for a while now and he has openly spoken about his desire to return to Rangers.
The 29-year-old spent 4 years with Rangers between 2008 and 2012 after joining from Burnley and he netted 38 goals for the Scottish giants in that time.
Since leaving Ibrox, Lafferty has played for FC Sion, Palermo, Norwich and has had two recent loan spells at Caykur Rizespor and Birmingham City.
Looking back at his days at Rangers – where he won three league titles – Lafferty said:
“Those were great days.
“We had a special team then and a lot of players who grew up Rangers fans so when we won league titles it meant everything.
“To score in a few of the matches when we actually won the championship was incredible.
“Leaving Burnley, Celtic showed interest but for me it was always about Rangers.
“When I signed for the club it was a magical feeling.
“To go on and win league titles and cups and play in big games was amazing. Ibrox was my favourite place to play and with the crowd behind us the atmosphere was electric.
“At the start maybe I got too caught up in the whole Rangers and Celtic rivalry but that was because it meant so much.
“One incident with Neil Lennon made headlines and that was probably because he was as passionate about things as me.
“I’ve spoken to him since and we are fine with each other now.
“The longer you stay at a club like Rangers the better you adapt and although it didn’t end the way I would have liked, I still have a lot of great memories and I would like to go back and play for Rangers again one day.”
