West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the sale of Jonny Evans on the club’s official website.
Evans departs West Brom to join Leicester City for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be £3.5m as per his relegation release clause.
The Northern Ireland international leaves The Hawthorns after three years at the club, having made 96 appearances in total.
He scored five goals during his time with West Brom and captained the side last season.
The former Manchester United defender progressed through the academy at Old Trafford and played just shy of 200 games for the Red Devils before his 2015 switch to West Brom.
Evans has plenty of experience at Premier League level, with 235 top flight appearances under his belt.
The 70-cap Northern Ireland international, from Belfast, played alongside Craig Dawson and Ahmed Hegazi at the back for the Baggies last season but all three could leave this summer.
Dawson is a target for a number of Premier League clubs while Hegazi also has his admirers with Leicester City keen on him as well as Evans.
West Brom are losing a very good defender for such a small price in today’s market.
Alongside Harry Maguire, Evans will surely form a formidable centre-back partnership for the Foxes in the top flight.
With Dawson and Hegazi also linked with exits, West Brom may need to sign at least two new centre-halves this summer.
