Derby County’s appeal over a 12-point deduction has been adjourned, with a possibility that it could be dropped entirely.

The Rams were hit with the penalty after entering administration, which happens to all clubs in that situation. Usually, you can’t appeal this decision, however the East Midlands outfit believed they had a case because of Covid-19, meaning it was out of their control.

So, an appeal was lodged, but Telegraph reporter John Percy revealed last night that the case has been adjourned, and, crucially, he stated there is a ‘genuine chance’ that it will be dropped.

Essentially, that means Derby would then be accepting the 12-point deduction that is already in place, whilst they then wait to see whether another one follows for breaching EFL regulations.
